Gaylen's Sunny Shay
1978 ~ 1982
It was 1978 when I saw a poof of blonde hair surrounding a black face in a playpen full of Doberman puppies. I exclaimed,"It's an Afghan!"
Don't ask me how I knew...I had never seen a puppy before, and only pictures of adults. I was instantly hooked, and Gaylen's Sunny Shay became mine.
I was bitten by the show bug when my best friend took us to a fun match and Gaylen won breed over 2 other Afghans.
However soon it became obvious that his win was a fluke because Gaylen was afraid of everything.
That didn't make him a good show dog and that's what I had discovered I wanted.
